Desktop app not loading

If you have downloaded the YuJa desktop app from the software centre and after initial use the desktop app fails to re-launch it may need to be reset.

There are a few options to reset your desktop app.

To reset your desktop app –

  1. The first way is to access the hidden icons on your main screen. If the YuJa icon is visible it means the app is working in the background and will need to be shut down manually. Click on the Show Hidden Icons button on the lower right of your desktop menu bar.

  1. When the window opens, right click on the YuJa icon and click Exit. This will shut down the app from running in the background.

  1. If the app still does not launch you will need to manually stop the program from running. The second way is to shut down the app via the Ctrl + Alt + Del screen option. Click these keys together and a blue screen will open. Click on the Task Manager option.

  1. When the Task Manager opens, navigate to the details tab from the top menu. Scroll to the bottom of the window and you will notice two YuJa options. Click on End task then End process.

Do the same for the second YuJa option. This will shut down the apps running in the background, and you will be able to use the desktop app again.

  1. The third option only affects people working off campus. If you find that these options are not working then you may need to re sync your laptop policy to TAFE SA. Access the Software Centre icon on your desktop:

  1. Once open, click on Option from the left menu. Expand the computer maintenance option using the V icon on the right side. Click on the red Sync Policy button. Once complete you will need to restart your laptop. Log out and log back in to restart.
