Medications Referencing for Nursing

Details information and examples on how to reference drug information. by Kelly Piwanski

Intro

eMIMS Elite gives you access to several formats for each medication. Your referencing needs to reflect which of those formats you use to gain your information.

Once you have selected your information to reference then go to the menu on the left to choose which format you are referencing from.

To remember...

When referencing information from eMIMS Elite you would treat these resources like an electronic reference resource.
n.d. (no date) is used for web pages where the content is continuously updated, or subject to irregular updates. eMIMS Elite is constantly being updated, so information might change with time. Note: eMIMS Elite has a last updated date therefore the date of last updating is included after the product name. The date retrieved needs to be included when information is regularly updated.
Include the date you looked at the eMIMS entry, as information may change with time.
If you have multiple drug references from eMIMS Elite, reference them using a hyphen and lower-case letter after the n.d. and in alphabetical order in the reference list.
